So I was in an apartment building that I've not seen before and I went to the top floor and it seemed to all be offices but they were in the dark as if everyone was on leave. When I entered them, there seemed to be a bunch of christmas and easter decorations lying around which I thought, it's like my own little playground. At one point I left, I think I may have even taken some decorations with me and I went and drove to the shops. I remember passing people I knew but I can't remember if I stopped to chat to them or not. I remember feeling like I didn't really want them to see me which is odd because it was my friend from America that I don't get to see very often but love dearly and would go out of my way to catch up with. Then I went back to the offices and this time I decided to raid the chocolate easter eggs lying around but when I turned around and looked down the hall, I noticed that the office down the opposite end had christmas lights flashing. Suddenly a couple of people started heading down the hall to leave and I ducked down hoping they wouldn't see me. They called out and I said something like oh I'm sorry, you scared me a bit, I didn't think anyone was here, they made some small talk and then left. But as they left, an older man appeared and I apologised for being there, thinking noone else was there. Anyway, I don't really know how but the dream suddenly turned sexual and I needed to have that man right then and there. He didn't force himself on me or anything, rather I started unbuttoning his collar and he went with it. I remember thinking to myself, he looked a bit like Santa even though he was dressed professionally. I don't know if I told him he looked like santa or just thought it. As I unbottoned his shirt, I noticed a bit of a stain which should have turned me off but didn't. I started to kiss him and draw him down to the ground but before anything could go further I woke up.
Dreams often use symbolism to convey messages from the subconscious. Your dream contains several key elements that can be analyzed to gain insight into its potential meaning:
Unfamiliar Apartment Building: Starting your dream in a place you've never seen before can represent unexplored aspects of yourself or your life. It might be suggesting that there are parts of your personality or your current situation that are uncharted.
Dark Offices with Decorations: Offices can symbolize professionalism, work, or the part of your life where you engage in structured activity. The darkness might represent uncertainty, a hidden potential, or a feeling of being out of place. The presence of both Christmas and Easter decorations suggests themes of celebration, renewal, and tradition, which could mean you're longing for joy or are thinking about familial and societal expectations.
Taking Decorations and Driving to the Shops: Collecting decorations and driving indicates movement and change. It could represent taking joy and creativity from hidden or unexpected places and bringing them into your everyday life. However, feeling like you didn't want people to see you, especially someone you care about, could indicate reluctance or insecurity about these new developments or changes.
Avoidance and Recognition: Encountering people and avoiding them, even if you cherish them, might signify a fear of vulnerability or a desire to keep certain aspects of your life private or apart from others.
Raid on Chocolate Easter Eggs and Flashing Christmas Lights: Both elements of indulgence and the unexpected discovery of life (represented by the flashing lights) point to an acknowledgment of the small pleasures in life or a need for spontaneity and excitement.
Interaction with the Older Man: This man, resembling Santa, symbolizes wisdom, generosity, or guidance. The encounter turning sexual indicates a merging or confrontation with these aspects of maturity, desire, and perhaps your own internalized fears or taboos about authority or guidance.
Shifting to a Sexual Encounter: Sexual elements in dreams often relate to personal desires, inner conflicts, or integration of different parts of oneself. The presence of a stain might suggest imperfection or something that could typically deter you but didn’t in this case, which can speak to accepting flaws or imperfection in oneself or others.
Overall, this dream seems to be exploring themes of self-discovery, balancing between public persona and private desires, and the merging of joy, authority, and spirituality with your everyday life. The presence of holiday decorations suggests a duality of joy and expectation, and the sexual turn could highlight suppressed desires or an aspect of yourself you are coming to terms with or wish to express more freely.
